When a ready-filled can makes sense
A can is convenient when you want a drink with no equipment to set up. There is no battery to charge and no generator to bring with you. It can also suit someone trying a ready-filled format before deciding whether they want to own a bottle.
Opal advises keeping its cans somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, and drinking promptly after opening. Check the pack you are buying and its storage directions, especially if you are ordering several drinks at once.
Why we prefer iBottle+ for a regular routine
With iBottle+, your next drink starts with a refill of clean drinking water. Once the initial setup is complete, normal use means filling the bottle and running its hydrogen cycle. You keep using the same device instead of keeping a supply of ready-filled cans.
The 400 mL option is our choice for more water per fill. Choose 230 mL if you prefer a compact bottle. Our
model and size guide helps you choose between them.
What should you check before ordering?
For cans, check the quantity, delivery charge and storage space you will need. The A$3.75 example is a single-can listing, not a bulk-pack price or a delivered order total.
For a bottle, decide which size you will carry comfortably and where you will refill it. Our
guide to suitable water explains that part of the choice.
Compare the purchase you will actually use
A single can and a reusable device involve different upfront spending. Think about whether you want a few ready-filled drinks or your own bottle for repeated use. For a longer-term budget comparison, our
hydrogen water bottle cost guide explains how to include delivery, running costs and the amount of water you buy or prepare.
Our winner for regular personal use: iBottle+
Choose
iBottle+ if you want the freedom to refill your own bottle at home or take it with you. The two size choices make it easy to choose around your routine. Cans have the convenience of arriving ready-filled; for ongoing personal use, we prefer having the bottle ready for the next refill.
